In case you didn’t know, digital X-rays are similar to digital cameras. Rather than using old-school film to capture and store images, digital X-ray machines capture images and record them electronically. As such, you can immediately view the results on a monitor, and our team can discuss them with you in real-time.

One other big advantage of using digital over traditional X-rays is the reduced amount of radiation –up to 90 percent less than traditional X-rays!

Laser Cleaning

Technology is the key to progress when it comes to preventive dentistry. We actually have two different ways for using the dental laser cleaner in our L.A. office. One of them is called laser bacterial reduction, which helps with gingivitis and any infection of your gums. The second type of laser procedure that we use at Westwood Dental Smiles is in conjunction with deep scaling and root planing of plaque and bacteria. We have invested in this technology to make it easier for you to keep your health in tip-top shape.

Dental Sealants

As an added layer of protection, we offer dental sealants in our office. These are great for patients of any age and are especially helpful in children. So, what is a dental sealant? A sealant is a thin resin material that gets applied to the grooves or fissures of your teeth. This preventive procedure is quick, painless and helps you enjoy decay-free teeth for many years to come. How do they work? Sealants quickly bond to the teeth to “seal” them and stop food particles, acids and plaque from entering the tooth grooves, thus keeping you safe.
