Meet Dr. Anderkvist
Dr. Tomas Anderkvist is Assistant Clinical Professor at University of Southern California, School of Dentistry where he is the former Course Director of Occlusion ISP.
Dr. Anderkvist received his Doctor of Dental Surgery (D.D.S.) degree in 1991 from U.S.C. School of Dentistry, and a second D.D.S. degree from Caroline Institute, Stockholm, Sweden.
He graduated at the TOP of his dental school class in 1991. Because of his accomplishments in school, he was accepted to a very sought-after specialist program in prosthodontics.
He received his Advanced Specialty degree in prosthodontics from U.S.C. School of Dentistry in 1994. He has maintained a private practice in Westwood, Los Angeles since 1995 where he practices Aesthetic and Family dentistry.
He is a renowned lecturer, author of articles published in peer review journals and recipient of numerous awards and honors. He presented his published implant research at IADR (International Association for Dental Research) in Chicago.
Hello, I’m Tomas Anderkvist. I’m a prosthodontist. A prosthodontist is a dental specialist who has received three or more years of doctoral post training. The training is on complete mouth rehabilitations, crowns and bridges, implants , dentures, TMJ treatment and cosmetic dentistry. It’s an intense and vigorous training, beyond the norms of a normal dentist degree.

Continuing Education
Yes, we always keep up with continuing education courses to further our knowledge, because we always have to be on the top edge of dentistry, so to say. There are new things coming all the time… for example CBCT scanners which show us teeth and their problems in 3 dimensions, compared to previously only two dimensional views of traditional dental x-rays.
We have implants, that we do a lot of, we restore missing teeth thereby restoring the function and the smile of the patient, and it is a very rewarding experience.
